The denomination of origin Irpinia DOC is found in Campania, in the wine province of Avellino, known for producing wines of excellence in the region. Irpinia was recognized by the DOC in 2005 and is the home of Greco di Tufo, Taurasi and Fiano di Avellino, internationally renowned DOCG wines. With these wines Irpinia played a significant role in the development of the viticultural heritage of southern Italy and Campania in particular.
