The wines honoured with this appellation are made from grapes obtained exclusively from a single vineyard. The grapes take the name of the place where they are grown, which is then also given to the wine. In order to obtain a white Curtefranca Vigna it is essential to reduce the yield of grapes, which results in wines that have a higher average alcohol content and extract than the other Curtefrancas. It also needs a longer period of time to mature in the bottle, and can’t be marketed until a year after the harvest.
