The Terra di Lavoro 2003 shows a powerful fruit that only the remarkable tannic and mineral charge can balance. The tasting begins with the visual sensations to which this vintage offers a decisive chromatic appearance, a ruby that does not transpire with thin garnet brushstrokes. Even the glycerine consistency of the wine is appreciable on sight. A unique wine in its unmistakable identity. The nose reveals a dense olfactory block: alcohol and fruit, in which we find hints of blackberry, blueberry, cherry, wild berry jam along with spicy notes from licorice with white pepper, from brown tobacco to rhubarb. All this on a continuous and persistent graphite mineral fabric, which some read as goudron or other intense smoked. On tasting, we find the territory, the woods surrounding the vineyards, the volcanic soil on which the vines are grown, and a softness which corresponds to an explosion of soft and tight tannins and a perfectly calibrated acidity. In the mouth it is concentrated, refined, pulpy, round, with balsamic notes and an endless final lugo of resin and bitter cocoa. but complex, shows that he wants to rest in the cellar to taste it, even more mature, in a few years.
