Tenuta Lamborghini

Tenuta Lamborghini
The property was purchased by Ferruccio Lamborghini in the late 60s that traveling in these areas, fell in love with the rugged hills landscape at the same time. He abandoned the famous car manufacturing activity he decided to return to his roots: agriculture. The total area is 100 hectares, divided between a 9-hole golf course, a farm and winery of 32 hectares. They started to plant different varieties both red berry that white grape: in addition to the classic Sangiovese and Ciliegiolo, went also to unusual varieties at that time, such as Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. In the mid-90s Patrizia Lamborghini succeeded in the management, continuing and even strengthening, the father’s ambition to produce high quality wines. Since then most of the vineyards have been replanted removing the white varieties and preferring Sangiovese and Merlot. Present the new vineyards at high density of selected clones spanning over 20 hectares. The extreme search for quality and the desire to highlight the characteristics of the territory have meant that, since 1997, the production, the management of the vineyards to the wine run, suffer a radical change that generated red wines of the highest quality.
