Opus One 2014

2014 is exceptionally early in the Oakville appellation, which in no way affected the quality of this vintage, which enjoys almost perfect conditions during maturation. Right from the harvest, the grapes reveal an ideal balance between freshness and concentration.
The assembly of this 2014 Opus One includes 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Petit Verdot, 6% Cabernet Franc, 5% Merlot and 2% Malbec. The nose is floral, at first reminiscent of freshly cut grass and undergrowth, then it smells of red and black fruits. In the mouth we find black fruits, but also black olives and spices. The consistency of the wine is silky with fine tannins, and the mouth is guided in the finish by a nice tension and touches of mocha. To be tasted immediately, but it can also wait in the cellar about fifteen years (from harvest) for greater complexity.
