With its rich and complex architecture, the XO cuvée is composed of a new and original blend called Extra Old (XO) obtained from old eaux-de-vie.
Developed in 1870 by two passionate men: Maurice Hennessy (fourth generation of Hennessy) and Emile Fillioux (third generation of master blenders), it was initially a creation intended for a few close friends. It was during a lunch at the Château de Bagnolet that the first bottle of Extra Old cognac was tasted by the relatives of the two creators.
The XO cuvée is presented in a decanter, with a sophisticated design, created by Frank Gehry and enclosed in a magnificent black and gold box.
The color is a wonderful amber tone with mahogany highlights.
Subtle and spicy, the nose captivates with its notes of candied fruit.
Complex and persistent on the palate, this cognac has a soft texture that reveals a note of wild cocoa and woody notes obtained thanks to its long aging.
