Château Lynch‑Bages Grand Cru Classé "Pauillac" 2013 Château Lynch Bages

The power and elegance of a great Pauillac.
Lynch-Bages 2013 is an intense red colour, while the aromas are a complex blend of black fruits, violet and pepper with subtle woody notes. The wine is balanced, combining aromatic elegance with fine tannins, and the first taste is full smooth and lively.

After a very rainy winter, the soil was again soaked through during the equally damp spring. Although budburst was surprisingly homogeneous, this cool weather slowed down the growth of the vines. In July and August, a combination of sunny days and high temperatures raised hopes that this might compensate for the phenological delay in the vine growth, but the harvest was still very late.
Veraison was however homogeneous, with a rapid ripening of the skins at the end of September. Effective team work and the availability of good grape pickers were both a enormous boon, providing us with vital support during this difficult end of season.
