CastelGiocondo 2018

CastelGiocondo 2018 has an intense and brilliant ruby red colour. Castelgiocondo always stands out for its elegance, a characteristic which in this vintage is, if possible, even more marked. The fruity notes, the first to hit our olfactory receptors, are dominated by blueberry and blackberry, flanked by blackcurrants and other berries. This is followed by floral notes of violet and dog rose, always present in the bouquet of the best Brunello di Montalcino. In the olfactory sequence, clear spicy hints of black pepper and cardamom make space, followed by a pleasant aroma of liquorice. On the palate the tannic texture is dense, but without particular harshness, finely accompanied by mineral notes. The taste-olfactory coherence and the long and persistent finish make it particularly balanced.
